who is William Shakespeare
Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, in 1564. Very little is known about his life, but by 1592 he was in London working as an actor and a dramatist. Between about 1590 and 1613, Shakespeare wrote at least 37 plays and collaborated on several more. Many of these plays were very successful both at court and in the public playhouses. Why is he famous
William Shakespeare is famous for having been the greatest writer in the history of the English language, and of European civilization. He was a playwright and poet in Elizabethan England. He wrote plays such as Romeo And Juliet, Hamlet, The Taming of the Shrew, As You Like It, Richard III, The Tempest, MacBeth and many many more. William Shakespeare is primarily famous as a playwright, although he also wrote 154 sonnets and two long narrative poems and performed on stage as an actor. He was a master of the English language at a time when the language reached new heights. His characters are realistic; they relate to the time and place, acting and reacting like we do. His discourses are worldly -- still relative today, like they were back in time. He is a famous, writer having writen over 100 sonnets and 37 plays.
